Choice Book Report 3 Part 2 True Grit

         In True Grit, Mattie figured the main theme nearing the end of the novel. The theme was working your hardest can give you the greatest outcome. She discovered it when she traveled more than one-hundred miles on horseback in a very short period of time. Adding to this, she did not have much experience riding one. She also would get in trouble a lot, which slowed her down and got her farther and farther away from her target. Therefore, she quickly changed her attitude and this helped her greatly She had to do all of this to avenge her father's death. The result of this gave her the best outcome by killing the murderer and received money for the man because he killed a state senator and other lawful doings.
          I can relate to this from last year's soccer season. My team and I worked really hard by putting in many hours and lots and lots of fundraising. Our target was was to be first in the nation. We put in more effort than any team out there. Therefore, it gave us the greatest outcome. Taking home first and being the youngest team to do so. And then some. My teammate and I received the award Golden Guard, which is most goals, scored in the tournament. We were both tied with eight goals. In addition, each player on my team also received a golden ring for our great accomplishment. We will never forget what miracle we had done
          This theme also appeared in the book Petey. The main character Petey had the same wheelchair throughout most of his life and his wheels would fall off frequently. Also his seat was ripped, and wasn't very well customized for him. Therefore, Petey tried hard to get a new wheelchair. His outcome was also great and he received a top class wheelchair.
          The theme working your hardest can give you the greatest outcome is true. There is proof in the book True Grit, Petey, and my soccer team. There is to many examples of this theme to name, but it is definitely happening in books, and the real world. Working hard can definitely give you great outcomes, and it will truly get you farther in life.
