Comment on either you liked/disliked the book.
I really liked the book Petey because it told the perspective of someone who had Cebral Palsy. The character had a very strong personality, and because he could not talk very well, he thought a lot. This helped me understand the character very deeply. In some parts I would wonder about Petey and was guessing things, and in the next few pages most of my questions would be answered. This made reading the book much easier. Also there were parts that were very cruel to Petey but Petey would ignore those things and just get on with life. Like calling him a retard in front of his face. Or not giving him the privliges that he deserved but didn't give him because he was "mental". Yet, Petey would keep his head up.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books that have your questions answered almost as soon as you come up with one. Only in the end I had a question but the author made it that way. I didn't want the book to end it was so good. There is only one problem with this book, that it does not have a sequel. This book is very inspirational in almost every page. There was also parts that I couldn't believe how bad people treated Petey, and I know people treated people like Petey in that way in his time. You will not be disappointed with the book and it will hard to be put down. Mrs. Clear, you should read this, but after your done grading me.
Pt2 – I have read Petey – but it was sooo sad!
